Hi Randall,
Thank you for bringing this question to us at planDisney!
Visiting in December during the
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort is my family's absolute favorite time of year to visit. When you book a
vacation package, the tickets are the same type ticket for each day. I did contact a cast member to confirm current options. If you decided to upgrade on the last day of your stay, you would need to purchase that upgrade for the number of ticket days you have attached with your vacation package. If you want to purchase a few days of standard theme park tickets and one day with the Park Hopper Option, I suggest you book your
resort hotel room separately from your
theme park tickets.
As you consider your options, I also suggest that you keep an eye on the
Special Offers. And, depending on how many days you plan to visit, consider becoming a member of the Annual Passholder family. I love the
benefits of being an annual passholder and, when making the decision to purchase, I considered the discounts on merchandise, entertainment, dining, and special experiences in the
Enchanting Extras Collection. We use our
annual passholder discount regularly.
Since you are planning to visit in December, I do congratulate you for planning early. December is a busy time of year at the Walt Disney World® Resort. I do hope you visit the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays Presented by Advent Health. Keep an eye out on the
Disney Parks Blog for news about the Candlelight Processional narrators. This is a must-do for my family. We always do a Candlelight Processional dining package to ensure we have access to the show.
Randall, I hope this helps! Of course, if you do decide to wait until you arrive to inquire about adding the Park Hopper option to the last day of your ticket, feel free to double-check with a cast member in
Guest Relations since policies and procedures are subject to change.
Sending you a little extra pixie dust as you finalize those plans!
Magic and memories.
