Visiting in December & have 2 days that we will not be visiting the parks. We can only swim so much (weather permitting). I have a 4 & 2 yo and a 5 month old. Any recommendations would be great, we do not have a rental car & are staying at SOG

    Hi Jamie!

Congratulations on planning a holiday trip to the Walt Disney World Resort.  You must be so excited! There are so many things to do outside of the theme parks.  In December especially, there are so many festive happenings at Downtown Disney.  From Shades of Green, you would hop a bus that will take you there.  Once you board, the trip should take around 25-30 minutes.  At the Marketplace area, Santa Claus greets guests.  Also, you can celebrate the Festival of the Seasons with plenty of live entertainment at Downtown Disney.   You also might want to consider visiting the resorts on the Disney Monorail loop.  You can walk over to Disney's Polynesian Resort and explore the sights and sounds of Christmas, Polynesian style.  I think it's fun to see the resorts all decked out for the holidays.  How about a late breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, or breakfast at 'Ohana at the Polynesian?  I think your children would really enjoy that.  Take a look at these (and other) fabulous dining options! On your resort tour, you simply can't miss the holiday gingerbread houses and displays at Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa!

Feel free to write back to me if I can offer other suggestions.  I am happy to help.

Until then, I wish you a truly magical vacation!
