Visiting Dec 2011, our 2nd trip and a celebration for me graduating college. Can't wait to see the holiday decorations & MVMCP, but also avoid the huge crowds. What will the crowds be like from 12/17/2011 to 12/23/2011. Will MVMCP still be going on?

Oh Goldie, it is always hard to predict crowds at Disney!  The best you can do is to compare from last years numbers and that can often prove so different.

It used to be that December was a slower time for a Disney visit but that appears to be changing.  With all the wonderful holiday offerings now available in the parks many families are making the trek during this month to start their holiday celebrations. The weekend of the parade filming is busy but I have noticed that the following weekend this year seems to be busy as well.  Rooms have been difficult to find at any resort!!!  So to answer what the crowds will be like for your dates I'm afraid it is too hard to tell!  My own family will be there from the 18th to the 25th so I too am cautiously optimistic that we will not have difficulty maneuvering around the parks. Honestly even with the crowds I can't think of a better place to be to feel the holiday spirit!

The last Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for the season will be held on December 19th.  I suggest you get your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment in case it sells out.
