We are visiting Dec.12-17, will there be any special Star Wars events during that time?

    Hi Jill:

You are visiting Walt Disney World during a wonderful time, right before the Holidays, where the parks and resorts will be deck out with Holiday music and themeing.  But just as important, Walt Disney World is a wonderful place to enjoy Star Wars.

For Star Wars attractions at Walt Disney World, enjoy the recently refurbished Star Tours - The Adventures Continue at Hollywood Studios.  Also head over the Star Wars: Jedi Training Academy, also at Hollywood Studios. Young Padawans between 4 to 12 learn to master the Force in an exciting live show featuring awesome lightsaber duels. You'll likely meet up with Darth Vader, and I've seen Darth Maul appear during busy seasons.  You can also enjoy some Star Wars shopping at Tatooine Traders.

Of course, the big Disney World event for Star Wars fans is Star Wars Weekends, where you can meet Star Wars celebrities, interact with your favorite characters, and enjoy special events. These special weekends are held in the spring, usually mid-May to mid-June. You never know what else may be announced.  I would make sure you follow the Disney Parks Blog.

May the Force be with you.
