We are visiting Dec 13-19th. My daughter's 8th birthday will be Dec 30th. Will it be ok to still do some celebrating (i.e. getting b-day pin, getting cake, etc) or is our trip to far away from her birthday to do those things?

No worries, absolutely celebrate her birthday when you are there.  There won't be any issue with you celebrating her birthday earlier.  You are celebrating the birth of your baby girl.  Celebrate, and enjoy, she is only 8 once, and I guarantee she will never forget this birthday.  Heather M.
