Hi Jennifer! Welcome back to planDisney.
My family recently returned from a 10-day visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, and I really think that is the perfect length for a visit. We visited each theme park multiple times, had a few mornings to sleep in, and got the perfect mix of chill relaxation time and theme park excitement. You're going to love every minute!
Guests
staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel may make their
dining reservations 60 days from their check-in date for up to 10 days. In other words, 60 days before the day you'll check in to your resort hotel, you will be able to log on to
My Disney Experience and make dining reservations for up to 10 days of your visit. I like to use an online calculator to determine the 60-day mark and then note it on my calendar and planner.
One strategy for planning your dining reservations is to attempt to make them in order of difficulty. So, if there's a dining reservation you are really hoping for - brunch at
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' is a highly sought-after example - it makes sense to try to plan this toward the end of your trip but to search for that reservation first. This gives you the best chance at availability. I make my reservations in order of difficulty, and I try to stay flexible. Also, remember you can keep searching as your visit approaches; many Guests change plans or drop reservations within the week before their visit date.
I hope this helps as you make your plans, Jennifer. As you count down the days and dream about December at the Walt Disney World Resort, be sure you're reading the
Disney Parks Blog for news, updates, and fun features. I love reading all the news about food throughout the Walt Disney World Resort and adding must-tries to my list.
Please come back and see us if you think of any further questions!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
