We are visiting with our daughter (14mos.). I was curious about what she would NOT be able to do at the Magic Kingdom. Also, this trip is special because my husband is deploying shortly after. Is there anything special Disney can help me do for them?

I know this will be a very special trip for your family.  Starting January 4 to December 23, 2009, active and retired military can take advantage of a new wonderful offer.  They may obtain one complimentary 5-day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute" ticket with the Park Hopper and Water Park options.  At this time they may also make a one time purchase for up to five 5-Day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute Companion" tickets for $99 plus tax per ticket.  To get more information about this new offer your husband can contact the ITT office on his base or check on line at .
This is the year of "What Will You Celebrate" at Disney and there are many different things you can do to make it special for your husband and daughter.  The disney florist provides options for your room from balloon bouquets to floral arrangements to gift baskets. If you do not see anything that is just perfect for you they love to personalize something special to your tastes and needs. You can look at their site on line at or call them directly at 407-827-3505, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST seven days a week.
I also thought of something special that I did for my father a few years ago.  There is no guarantee but on some days it is possible to help with the lowering of the flag on Main Street of the Magic Kingdom.  It was very special for my father who was a retired WWII veteran and something he never forgot.  Your husband would need his military information/ID and check with the guest relations at the Magic Kingdom first thing in the morning to see if it is possible.
I am excited for your upcoming visit and hope you are able to take advantage of all the celebrations that will be going on this year for Walt Disney World.  Good luck to you and your family while you wait for your husband's return from duty for our country.
