We are visiting California in on Oct 17th to 22nd and my son (14yrs) really wants to attend everything star wars, do we need to book in advance? Thank you

    Hello there Julie-Anne,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for the question! I am also a huge Star Wars fan - like your son - and would be happy to give you some tips on experiencing all things Star Wars during your upcoming visit.

First and foremost, I noticed you mentioned that you're visiting California in late October. If you haven't already done so, the first steps for any visit to the Disneyland Resort are purchasing theme park tickets, making theme park reservations, and finding a place to stay - I'm partial to the Disneyland Hotel personally! It really captures the magic of the resort.

Once you've arrived, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - the land themed around Star Wars - is located in Disneyland Park, so this will be the main place you'll want to plan to visit during your trip. There are so many fun things to do, see, and eat in this area of the park, but let me highlight a few of my favorites!

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of my all-time favorite attractions. I would absolutely recommend prioritizing this at least once during your visit - it is unbelievably good! You might consider even purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane to make sure you have an opportunity to experience it during your visit as it does tend to have a long line depending on when you visit.

I would also recommend looking into reserving a spot at Savi's Workshop where your son can build his very own lightsaber. This is very much an experience where you and a small group will get to walk through the lightsaber construction process and your son will get to fully customize his own to take home and show off.

Lastly, I really like all the food in the area, but if I had to recommend only one place, it would be Ronto Roasters. I like to grab a wrap and find a spot nearby to eat it while watching for fun character encounters, which happen very frequently in this area.

You can also of course become a Batuu Bounty Hunter, ride Star Tours in Tomorrowland, and find Star Wars merchandise all around the Disneyland Resort. I'd recommend looking through the Disneyland mobile app when you arrive to discover all the fun ways to experience a galaxy far, far away during your visit.

Thanks again for your question, Julie-Anne! I hope you have a fantastic visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.

    Have a Magical Day,
