Greetings, Jessica!
How exciting to be planning a Disneyland Resort vacation during the
holidays. It’s one of my favorite times of the year to visit. We’ve got our stay at the
Disneyland Hotel booked for December already. So we are also looking forward to when we can book our
theme park reservations for that visit.
As you are aware, each Guest of the Disneyland Resort theme parks must have both valid theme park admission and a theme park reservation. Because park reservations are limited, I understand the worry about booking your visit during especially popular seasons. I haven’t yet noticed reservations run out right away for popular days when they are released 120 days in advance. Reservations for such dates don’t usually run out until they are much closer. But since it’s not possible to predict future demand exactly, it’s still a good idea to plan ahead and secure your park reservations as far in advance as you can.
Personally, I would feel comfortable with waiting until all of your planned park days are
available to be booked before purchasing your
theme park tickets. But if you would prefer to play it extra cautiously, you could choose to purchase your tickets sooner and then visit the "
My Theme Park Reservations" page to modify your park reservations to the dates you want to visit as they become available.
One thing you want to be aware of when purchasing tickets sooner than reservations open up for your actual travel dates is that you will need your tickets to still be valid for the park reservation dates you will eventually book. Currently, standard multi-day
park tickets sold online have an end expiration date of January 12, 2025. So a ticket purchased today could be used in December of this year even though reservations for December are not yet bookable. You will be good to go, as long as all of the ticket days are used with park reservations booked for dates available within the time the ticket is still valid, where the last day of use is no more than 13 days after the first day of use and all days are before the ticket’s end expiration date.
Tony’s Tip: As I mentioned before, my family already has reservations booked at the Disneyland Hotel. We like to stay in one of the three
Disneyland Resort Hotels to get access to the
many perks they offer. That includes access to
theme park reservations exclusively for hotel Guests. Although this additional pool of reservations is also limited, having access to more available options gives us peace of mind when making our Disneyland Resort vacation plans.
Thanks for visiting us at planDisney, Jessica. I hope you have a magical time visiting the Disneyland Resort!
