Hi Diana!  Congratulations on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World!

I am happy to answer your question based upon my own experiences.  I have stayed at both of these resorts, and have to tell you that you can't go wrong with either one!

Some things to consider in your decision:

    * The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a "Deluxe" resort, and the Caribbean Beach Resort is a "Moderate" resort.  Generally, the differences are in the details, such as size of rooms, etc...  One thing that matters to some people is that you enter your room from outdoors at the Caribbean Beach Resort, and from an indoor hallway at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

    *  The Animal Kingdom Lodge is located in close proximity to the Animal Kingdom Park.  However, it is located further away from all of the other Parks and Downtown Disney & Marketplace.  The Caribbean Beach Resort is located in closer proximity to EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Downtown Disney.  Both resorts are a little bit further from the Magic Kingdom than all of these other Parks.

    *  My children absolutely LOVE the pirate-themed swimming pool at the Caribbean Beach Resort.  In fact, as members of the Disney Vacation Club, we are allowed to "pool hop", and we hop over to this pool on almost every visit, whether we are staying at that resort or not.

    * Both resorts have great food courts in close proximity to the swimming pool areas.

So, those are the main differences.  If you are looking for more of a "luxury hotel" atmosphere, then go for the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  However, if you are looking for equally amazing amenities and a fun, festive, playful atmosphere, then you will be very happy at the Caribbean Beach Resort.

Best wishes with your decision, and have a magical time at Walt Disney World!
