    visiting 12/9-12/12, are big thunder railroad and splash mountain open during EMH? have pirates league reserved for 9:05 but wanted to hit those two rides after rope drop...thanks

    Hi Danielle:

    Congratulations on securing a Pirate's League reservation.  You'll enter a civilian and leave a swashbuckling pirate.  Although subject to change, in my experience, neither Big Thunder Mountain Railroad nor Splash Mountain has been open during morning Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom.  Big Thunder Mountain Railroad tends to be open during evening Extra Magic Hours.

    If you are looking for a morning mountain thrill, my best advice is to head towards Space Mountain, which tends to be open during morning Extra Magic Hours.  I understand it's not the area you want to be at 9:00, but you'll enjoy a thrilling experience with minimal wait time.
