Aloha Juan!
You must be so excited for your upcoming trip to
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai‘i! My family had a chance to visit this award-winning Resort earlier this yEAR. It is pure paradise!
Juan, there are many wonderful hiking trails with waterfall features through Oahu which can be enjoyed on a day trip from Aulani. I suggest that you either strike out on your own and rent a car (which my family did), or sign up for one of the
Aulani Resort Excursions, where your fully planned Hawai‘i adventure will be ready and waiting; all you have to do is show up!
During our trip to Aulani, my family participated in two hiking adventures where our efforts were rewarded with beautiful waterfalls.
Mānoa Valley Rainforest & Bamboo Forest Hike is about a 40 minute drive from Aulani. It offers a gentle, family-friendly hike through both a beautiful rainforest and bamboo forest with an elegant waterfall and pool at the end. Note that if driving, there is a nominal parking fee.
Waimea Falls Park, about 50 minutes from Aulani, also should not be missed. Following a mile long hike through some gorgeous botanical gardens, you will come upon the grand Waimea Falls. This hike was actually our favorite since we were able to swim in the falls pool at the end. Our whole family loved it. Aulani also offers this experience as an excursion:
Huaka‘i Iki – Little Adventure. Note that there is a small park admission fee.
Wishing you a wonderful upcoming Aulani vacation, Juan. Adventure is out there!
