Hi Melissa,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort is exciting but I can empathize with your food allergy question. Our girls and my husband have food allergies, so we have to take care when ordering food at any restaurant.
Many quick-service restaurants can accommodate your requests. Prior to your visit, be sure to review the information at
Special Dietary Requests and email your specific needs to Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com. We find the
allergy-friendly menus to be quite helpful when making food selections. Here is a
sample allergy-friendly menu from a table-service restaurant.
In our experience, we have not been able to find allergy-friendly menus at all quick-service restaurants, so we always ask a cast member before ordering. No matter the crowds, cast members have been helpful as we have tried to navigate each restaurant. My
fellow Moms Panelist Thiana also has a great answer related to food allergies and snacks.
Melissa, since your son will be celebrating a birthday, I also suggest that you consider making a dining reservation at a special restaurant for his birthday. Our girls adore The Crystal Palace and, on our last visit, my husband received an autographed birthday card signed "Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore" although Eeyore is clearly working on his handwriting skills!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
