Hi Louise,
Welcome to planDisney!
Hooray for celebrating a third birthday! Even though you will celebrate before the trip, there are so many ways to celebrate when you arrive to the Walt Disney World® Resort! Since your son will be 3-years old, you should purchase
theme park tickets for our new royal guest. Looking at your arrival date, I am thrilled to see that you have plenty of time to plan.
As you plan, think about which character dining experiences he might enjoy. I would suggest
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera to see Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Donald and Daisy Duck. At Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park, we also love
Tusker House Restaurant. Or, try
Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Remember to make advanced dining reservations. And, one final tip - my family typically does character meals at breakfast because the prices are a bit more budget-friendly for us. If you do an early morning character meal in a theme park, remember to arrive to the park entrance with plenty of time to get in and get to the reservation. I would arrive at least one hour prior to your reservation. Also be aware that character experiences are subject to change.
When you make those dining reservations, please remember to indicate that you are celebrating a birthday and, when you arrive to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel, ask for celebration buttons that you can wear during your visit. Cast members are great about saying happy birthday when they see those buttons. And, if you want to add an extra special touch, consider ordering some balloons from
In-Room Floral & Gifts. On a prior visit when our girls were younger, we ordered one balloon for each of them and they absolutely loved it. Also consider ordering one of the
Cakes at Walt Disney World Resort. If you do order, I suggest doing so at the beginning of the trip so that you can enjoy that cake for a few days before leaving!
Louise, I trust you will get those plans finalized! Looking at your arrival date, I think you are planning to visit during a lovely time of year. Remember the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. We just love the beautiful topiary displays!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
