Hi Cassandra,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Let the dancing commence - any trip to the Walt Disney World Resort brings on the happiness!
I just recently stayed at
Disney's Pop Century Resort in a renovated room and it was lovely. We appreciated the storage space, the beds were super comfortable and the bathroom had nice separation from the main room. Until the renovations are complete, I definitely suggest that you request a renovated room.
We have typically made some sort of special request on our reservations because my husband has mobility issues but does not need a wheelchair accessible room, so we request a room close to the main dining area(s) at the resort. We do
online check-in and, on several occasions when I checked a resort map to see the actual location of the room assigned, the room was too far away from the main resort area(s). Since I sign-up for text alerts, I typically call the phone number listed in the text when our room is confirmed. I explain our situation to a cast member who then attempts to find us a room that will better meet our needs. We have always been able to get a room in a better location but have had to wait a little longer for that room to be available. While we wait, we usually eat lunch and explore the gift shop.
Cassandra, just be sure to put in your request, do online check-in and then double-check the room assignment once you receive it!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
