Hello! We are visiting on April 15 and April 16 2018. We tried reserving the Plaza Inn for 6 people and it says it's completely full. I've read you don't necessarily need resos at Disney, but is this true for Character Experiences?

Hi, Courtney! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel and asking your question!

I love that you are considering the Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park at the Plaza Inn! This is my very favorite character meal because of the diverse group of characters that we always meet there. It is true that you can dine at some table service restaurants at the Disneyland Resort without a reservation. However, character meals are usually pretty popular so availability fills up fast. On the days you are visiting, you can certainly stop by the Plaza Inn to see if they have any tables open that morning for walk-ins. Or if you are staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, you have Preferred Reservation Access. A certain number of reservations are set aside specifically for hotel Guests. Simply call (714) 781-3463, select the option for having an existing room reservation, and a Cast Member will check to see if there is any availability for your party.

If a character breakfast is a must-do for your upcoming trip, check out Disney’s PCH Grill, Goofy’s Kitchen, or Storytellers Café. These restaurants are located in the three Disneyland Resort Hotels and I did a quick search for your travel dates and party size, and each had available reservations for breakfast. Goofy’s Kitchen even offers a character meal for dinner that is super fun as well.

Finally, I suggest that you keep checking online for available time slots for the Plaza Inn. It’s possible that other Guests will cancel their reservations as they finalize plans for upcoming trips and some spots just may open up. I hope this helps. See ya real soon!
