Hello, we will be visiting Animal kingdom’s Lodge in June in 2 rooms standard rooms. Will the room come with a fridge and microwave. If not, would I be able to request them? Our plan was to eat breakfast in the room by ordering in groceries.

    Jambo, Lee Anna!

Welcome to planDisney and Asante Sana (that means "thank you very much" in Swahili) for stopping by with your excellent question.  How exciting that soon, you'll be enjoying the "mane event" by watching animals free to roam around all day in the savanna of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.  This is one of my favorite Resorts and I'll be roaring there right along with you this June!

Lee Anna, the standard rooms at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge come with a mini-cooler, which is about the size of a dormitory refrigerator. It does not come with a microwave (those are in the Deluxe Studios and Villas.)  However, you can certainly put a request in to have additional cooling devices, microwave and a full-sized coffee pot brought to your room.  We did this last year, and while it is pending availability, the helpful Cast Members will accommodate it if they can.  Our family found the in-room refrigerator to be sizeable enough to fit yogurts, beverages, and smaller bottles of milk and juice in the fridge, making it the perfect watering hole for basic breakfast foods and storing your grub.

One tip I have for you, Lee Anna, is to give a roar to Guest Services in advance of your trip and put this request on your reservation. It may help secure one for you in advance.  But if you get to your room and find it hasn't been delivered, give a call to the Front Desk and they can also help you get what you need if it's available.

I hope this helps you, Lee Anna!  If you have any further questions about your upcoming Disney vacation, stop back see me here.  It's the circle of life that moves us all, Lee Anna, and you are welcome to circle back here as much as you need to!

Remember, at Walt Disney World Resort, there's more to see than can ever be seen and more to do than can ever be done!  Have fun enjoying it all.
