Hello! We’re visiting Animal Kingdom on Wednesday (Jan.11) and would love to find a spot to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks afterwards, that doesn’t require another park ticket or paying for parking again? Can we return to AK parking lot after closing?

    Hiya Annie,

Welcome back to planDisney! We are so grateful that you continue to visit us with help planning your magical vacations.

Annie, I love where your head is, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is my favorite Disney theme park, but I always prefer to end my day with a Nighttime Spectacular. Although having a Theme Park ticket with a Park Hopper option allows you a more seamless way to do this, there are some ways to enjoy Disney’s Enchantment from outside of Magic Kingdom Park. First, when you pay for parking at Walt Disney World Resort, you only have to pay once daily (even if you are hopping to another park). So should you choose to park at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you would not need to pay to park at the Walt Disney World Resort’s Transportation and Ticket Center later that evening (which is where you would park for Magic Kingdom). Just make sure to hold on to your receipt from earlier in the day. From the Transportation and Ticket Center, you can catch the monorail to a Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel or catch Disney’s Enchantment from the area near the ferry dock. In my opinion, the real magic of the Nighttime Spectaculars is the combination of the choreographed music in harmony with the fireworks, which, unfortunately, you will miss out on from the Transportation and Ticket Center.

For this reason, I recommend enjoying one of the incredible table service dining experiences at the three Magic Kingdom Resort hotels. Some of them offer not only unbelievable dining selections but also can’t-miss viewing vantage points. My personal favorite is Disney’s California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This incredible dining location has some of the most fantastic food at Walt Disney World, and when you dine there, you get to watch Disney’s Enchantment from the special observation deck. Even better than the view is that the show’s music plays from speakers on the deck in time with the performance. It is almost like being on Main Street, U.S.A., but significantly less crowded.

I hope this was helpful, Annie. If you want to brainstorm more ideas or have any other questions, please come back and see us.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
