    Hi I am visiting the animal kingdom lodge in 3 weeks. I never realised it was so far to the magic kingdom (12miles). If I want to travel by taxi how long does it take/cost. Also how far is downtown Disney. Thanks.

    Hi Richard!

    There are free Disney buses that run from Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.  However, there is no doubt that taxis are faster.  You can generally get to the Magic Kingdom in about 15 minutes in a taxi and to Downtown Disney in about the same time.  The charge is about $25 for either trip.

    While it is a little farther than the other resorts, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is absolutely fabulous!  The theming is incredible and of course having the animals right outside is a huge plus!
