Hi. We will be visiting The Animal Kingdom for the first time in August - just us two oldies (62 & 60). I have just found Jiko! What would you suggest about combining our visit and dining in the evening? s it better to dine at Jiko as a separate experi

    Hi Sue,

It sounds like you have an exciting trip planned! Your question was cut short, but I think you are asking whether it's better to dine at Jiko - The Cooking Place as a separate experience or whether you should combine it with a day at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Jiko - The Cooking Place is truly phenomenal! The romantic atmosphere, fragrant spices and crackling wood-burning ovens will make you feel like you are in the heart of Africa. The restaurant is located at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is about 15 minutes from Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park via the complimentary Walt Disney World Resort Bus Service. Combining your evening at Jiko - The Cooking Place with a day at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park would work well. We like to visit Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park in the morning until mid-afternoon, and we can experience our favorite attractions and shows at this beautiful theme park within that time frame. That said, I would be sure to give yourself enough time to get ready for your dinner after a day at the theme park. Because Jiko - The Cooking Place is a Signature Dining experience, Guests are asked to adhere to a bit of a stepped up dress code. You may want to change and freshen up before your meal. I would also suggest allowing some time to walk through the lush grounds of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge before or after your dinner, where you will see many species of African wildlife - it is amazing!

Sue, I hope this helps answer your question. Please stop back and let me know if you have any other questions.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
