Monica from Cartago Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hi! We are visiting AK and MK on august. We want to buy the memory maker. But what’s the difference between memory maker and memory maker one day. Should I buy 2 one day memory makers? Thanks

Hey Howdy Hey Monica and welcome to planDisney!

I feel Memory Maker is one of those details that can't be left out when planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort. Having the ability to have professional Disney PhotoPass Photographers capture special moments throughout the parks in some of the very unique Disney locations with everyone in the picture is so nice to have. Looking back, you will be happy you selected Memory Maker to commemorate your Magical trip. Let's go over some details on the specifics of the offerings to help clear up any confusion.

When it comes to Memory Maker options, they really all are the same as far as benefits go, it just matters when you buy it and for how long it is active. You can purchase Memory Maker for one day, which is referenced at $69.00 USD, or you can purchase it for the length of your stay. For Memory Maker available to use for the length of your stay, if you purchase it 3 days or more in advance of your trip, the price is $169.00 USD and if you purchase it within 3 days of your trip the price will be $199.00 USD. Note this pricing is relative to this writing and is subject to change. So the length of usage and the time you purchase are really the only differences other than pricing. If you will be visiting the parks for 2 days, it looks like it will be cheaper to go with the single-day purchase on both days which you can do right from your My Disney Experience app by searching for Memory Maker. You should see an option pop up "Buy Memory Maker" and after you select it, you should be taken to your options of the length of stay or a single day.

While the traditional pictures in front of Cinderella Castle are a "Must-Do" in my book, there are so many other fun ways you can use Memory Maker for some truly unique Disney photos. Magic Shots are some of my favorites. There are several you can take advantage of from Tiny World Magic Shots, Super Zoom Magic Shots and Classic and Animated Magic Shots, and are super unique ways to remember your trip! The Classic and Animated Magic Shots are available with most PhotoPass Photographers but they all do not have the same ones. Ask each one about Magic Shots and they will have you all pose for special appearances by our favorite Disney characters in your photos! The Tiny World and Super Zoom Magic Shots are taken with special devices at specific locations in the parks, so make sure to check online or ask a Cast Member when you are in the parks about the specific locations!

Best of luck as you continue to plan for your Magical vacation real soon! If you have any further questions please feel free to reach out and let us know, we would be happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
