We are visiting 12/30 to 1/6/2013 any advice for attending paks on New Year's Eve and New Years Day? Do we need to worry about park closing because of crowds. Staying at wilderness lodge and wondered if Hollywood stdios open till 3:00 is good to do. Thanks

    Hi Carolyn,

New Year's Eve is certainly an exciting time to visit Walt Disney World!  It's also a very crowded time.  I think you'll definitely notice huge crowds at the beginning of your vacation that will thin out after the New Year.  When parks reach capacity, they do stop letting people in.  However, as a resort guest, you are guaranteed admittance to a theme park.  If Magic Kingdom is too crowded, you'll be directed elsewhere.  It's a good idea to check with resort cast members before you leave for the day.  They usually have information on which parks are nearing capacity.

Hollywood Studios would be a fun park be in on New Year's Eve.  However, it is one of the smaller parks, so you'll probably want to plan on getting there early.  If you have the stamina to stay out until 3:00, you'll find that the crowds thin out considerably well into the evening.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
