visiting 4/21-27 will we be able to see the electrical water pageant? should i try to do the P&P voyage to really enjoy EWP? traveling with 3kids 5, 3, & 1...trying to make plans for that busy week to do 'off the beaten path' any other ideas?

    Randy:

Our family really enjoyed the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage last year. For me, the fireworks were beyond spectacular; for my sons, it was all the candy and all-you-can-drink soft drinks!

But don't think you have to pay over $53.99 a person to see the Electric Water Pageant!  This parade of colorfully-lit floats can be seen just as well from the beach of any of the Bay Lake/Seven Seas Lagoon Resorts.  It begins at the Polynesian Resort at 9:00 p.m. nightly followed by the Grand Floridian at 9:15 then it sails to Wilderness Lodge at 9:35, Fort Wilderness at 9:45 and ends at the Contemporary Resort a little after 10:00 p.m.

Some of my other favorite hidden gems:
    • Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Singalong at Fort Wilderness. During Daylight Savings Time, the firepots are lit at 7:40 p.m. each night, and the singing begins at 8:00 p.m. Chip 'n' Dale make their rounds for pictures and autographs. If you forget your s'mores, don't worry. There's a canteen where you can buy your own fixin's for around $9. They play a Disney movie to cap off the night. Did I mention it's free?!
    • Take the time with the kids to explore Innoventions at Epcot. These buildings house interactive, hands-on activities that usually end up being our children's best memory-makers. Another good spot: the games near the exit of Spaceship Earth.
    • When the Magic Kingdom opens, instead of heading to Fantasyland, make a straight line to Tom Sawyer's Island. The first ones to find the hidden paintbrushes get special "gifts" from awaiting cast members.
    Wishing y'all a memorable vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
