Visited WDW 13 yrs ago. I believe we went to WR & Campground to swim in the lake (for free) w/rope swing over the lake, & inner tubes, rented motor boats. Is this still available? Looking at this option instead of a Water Theme Park ticket purchas

Hi, Michele!      I believe what you are recalling is what was Disney's first waterpark, "River Country."  With its Ol'  Swimmin' Hole, and laid back atmosphere, it gave you the feeling of stepping back into a lazy summer day.   Unfortunately, River Country is permanently closed, and your waterpark choices are now Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

So many great memories at River Country, the old Discovery Island, Kitchen Kabaret in Epcot, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride in Magic Kingdom . . . Walt Disney World is always evolving, but I sure do miss some of the "oldie but goodie"  attractions and destinations!

I hope you enjoy new discoveries in WDW and making new magical memories!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
