How exciting that you'll be visiting the "Happiest Place on Earth" this summer! Only
MagicBand+ is supported at the Disneyland Resort, MagicBand and MagicBand 2 are not supported at this time, and cannot be linked to the Disneyland app. If you purchased them back in 2018, most likely, they are not MagicBand+ and will not be functional for your trip.
However, do not worry, you do not need a MagicBand+ to enjoy the parks! I recommend downloading the
Disneyland app when you arrive to California for your trip, and then you'll be able to purchase
Lightning Lane Multi Pass after you scan into the theme parks if that is of interest for you and your family. I have used my mobile phone plenty of times during our trips instead of a MagicBand+, and it works just fine to scan Lightning Lane selections, or to mobile order food and beverages.
You also will be able to secure
dining reservations up to 60 days before your trip! There are so many delicious options, some of our favorites include Carnation Cafe at Disneyland Park, and Lamplight Lounge at Disney California Adventure Park. We also dine frequently at quick service dining locations during our trips, or we just enjoy snacking all day whether we're grabbing popcorn or a Mickey Pretzel!
