We visited the parks in May 2019. We will going again in May 2020. I understand that the Magic Bands 2 can be reused. We are staying off property and I want to ensure that the band batteries are not going to quit. How do I check the battery life?

    Hi ya Amanda!

It’s so nice to see you here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I’m so excited to hEAR that you will be back at the Walt Disney World Resort after a year away! I’m sure it has missed you as much as you have missed it.

Star Command has informed me that the lifespan of a MagicBand is approximately 2-5 years. There is no specific way to ensure that the band battery is still good. However, from my personal experience, our MagicBands have still worked! My dad actually used his original MagicBand from 2016 on our family trip this past April. His original MagicBand was shy of 3-years old and it worked perfectly during our week long trip. Your MagicBands from 2019 should be sprinkled with plenty of Pixie Dust to be able to use during your 2020 visit!

Even though you are staying off property, I still recommend checking out the new designs available online and in shops throughout Walt Disney World Resort! I don’t know about you, but I love accessorizing to match my “Disney Bounding” outfit when I visit. Mickey Ears and color coordinating MagicBands are the finishing touches of my ideal outfit.

Don’t forget to add Memory Maker to your vacation package! It’s the perfect way to capture all the fun and Magical Memories you will be creating when you return in May!

    Have a Magical Day!
