We visited Nov. 2013 and were lucky to try out the magic bands. We are heading to Florida in July 2014 at the Floridian. Do you know if we use the same magic bands linked to our tickets or do we get new ones? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi there Donna,

You will be issued new Magic Bands with your new reservation.

Each time you book a stay at a Disney resort hotel, you'll automatically be given a new set of MagicBands for your party. As far as I can tell, there's no way opt of getting new bands, you just get more regardless of whether you've had a previous WDW visit. I'm now on my 4th set - well on my way to collecting all the colors.

However, while you will be getting new bands, you should know that MagicBands are reusable, so you can go with your old bands, your new bands, or both. You can manage this by going to and clicking on My Disney Experience at the top right of the page. Then under My Account, click on MagicBands and Cards. Click on the Bands in your account to link or unlink them to your tickets and reservations. If you have more than one band linked to your account, then they will both be active to open your room, redeem your FP+ reservations, etc.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We're happy to help.
