Hiya, Erica, and welcome back to
planDisney!
Like you, I also recently returned from a vacation to
Walt Disney World Resort, and used my
MagicBand+ the following week at
Disneyland Resort with my
Magic Key. So, I’d be happy to answer your question!
Luckily, it’s possible to have your MagicBand+ linked to both your My Disney Experience app and your
Disneyland app at the same time. Your best bet is to add your MagicBand+ directly to your Disneyland app. Here’s the process: Once you open the app, tap on the three lines at the bottom of the home screen navigation, and select “MagicBand+.” Tap on the “+” in the upper right corner, and then tap “Open Scanner to Link” in order to sync the app with your MagicBand+. Hold your MagicBand+ close to your mobile device to link to your account. I usually have to put my MagicBand+ underneath the upper half of my phone. Once the app recognizes your MagicBand+, you’ll be able to assign it to any of the Magic Keys or Tickets associated with your Disneyland app. Look for “Admission” and find your Magic Key Pass listed. Tap on “Assign” at the bottom of the screen, and you’re all set! You can also reassign your MagicBand+ to another Guest on your app, if you decide to swap designs. Just select “Reassign” at any time to do that.
I’m so thankful we have the ability to use MagicBand+ at Disneyland Resort now! I love the convenience of using it to enter the parks, use
Disney Genie+ service, and scan
Disney PhotoPass pictures. The enhanced features during nighttime spectaculars are also fun to watch!
I hope this information helps you get all set up, Erica! Please stop by with any additional questions… we love making your Disney dreams come true!
See ya’ real soon,
Kristin
