We visited Disney this past Dec with our daughter and 3 of our grandchildren. We are going back in May with two grandchildren. Can we unlink magic bands from our daughters my Disney account and link them to ours account.

Hi, Jacqueline, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

How exciting that you're planning a trip with the grandkids! My grandparents were the ones who first introduced me to the Walt Disney World Resort when I was a little girl, and the memories we made on that amazing trip have stuck with me ever since. I'm sure it'll be the same for your grands, too!

If your daughter has already set up your grandchildren under her My Disney Experience account, she will need to continue managing their plans. Trying to create multiple accounts for the same children may result in issues with hotel reservations and/or FastPass+ experience redemption later on (especially if you all take a trip together). The easiest thing to do would be to make sure your daughter has connected you in the Family & Friends section of her My Disney Experience account--that should allow you to make FastPass+ and dining reservations for your grandchildren, too. If any of your grandchildren are over the age of 13, though, they can create their own My Disney Experience account and can then add you as one of their Family & Friends. This will allow them to manage their own plans, but will also let you (and your daughter) book FastPass+ and dining reservations for them, too. If you're staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and purchase a dining plan, just make sure your grandchildren are named on the hotel reservation so you can properly manage their dining plan entitlements as well. They should still be able to use the same MagicBands from your December vacation--you'll just need to link their new ticket numbers to the bands in My Disney Experience.

If you have any problems adding your grandchildren to your Family & Friends List, you can contact the technical help center for additional assistance, too.

Please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help!
