Candyce from LA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

When we visited Disney in 2019 there was a fast pass option. I’ve been told that option is still available but it has been renamed, it maybe some restrictions and a little different. What is the new fast pass and what does it include/how does it work?

    Welcome to planDisney, Candyce!

You are correct, FastPass+ has been retired at Walt Disney World Resort. It makes me very sad, as I truly loved this service, but we are listening to Walt Disney himself when he said, “Keep moving forward.”

I am excited to tell you that there are 2 new options that you will be able to utilize on your next trip to the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks! I’ll highlight their features below, but please follow this magical link for in-depth details!

Disney Genie+ (for the price of $15 per day, per ticket) allows you to choose the next available time to arrive at a wide variety of attractions and experiences using the new “Lightning Lane” entrances. There are over 40 attractions and experiences from which you can choose! You will be able to make one selection at a time, throughout the day (attractions subject to limited availability). This will all be accessible through your My Disney Experience Mobile App

The second service available is called Individual Attraction Selections (Available for Purchase). All you’ll do is schedule a time to arrive at up to 2 highly demanded attractions each day using the “Lightning Lane” entrance (subject to limited availability). These are attractions that are NOT included with Disney Genie+. Pricing for this option will vary by date, attraction, and theme park and can be found within the My Disney Experience Mobile App.

Lightning Lane selections (for Disney Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selections) can be made on the same day of your visit and can be used across multiple theme parks. The attractions and experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks will continue to offer traditional standby queues as well.

If you’d like information on how to purchase Disney Genie+, follow this link to a question I answered about it earlier.

If you have additional questions, Candyce, we hope to hear from you again!
