If we visit for 2 weeks in January13 over the marathon weekend will it cause much disruption? Would we be better to avoid the parks on that weekend and plan our out of Disney day trips such as Seaworld and Kennedy Space Centre to avoid the crowds? Thanks

    Hi Karen!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel!

Traditionally the Walt Disney World theme parks are among the most crowded during Marathon Weekend.  What this means is the potential for big crowds and long lines (possibly up to two hours) for the most popular attractions.  You can still make the most of your time at the parks by using Extra Magic Hours (available to Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests only) to spend time in the theme parks outside of normal operating hours.

The second week of January through to the first week of February will usually be the least crowded time at the parks, so apart from Marathon Weekend, January is a very good time to visit and enjoy the parks at their quietest.
