Want to visit WDW in Oct since the kids get 2 wks Fall break from school. Wondering if first wk or 2nd wk in Oct would work best. (weather, crowds, cost, etc). Also considering last wk in May into June (Memorial Day wk). Your help is greatly needed. Thx

    Hiya Gloria!

Thank you for stopping by!  Choosing the time of year to visit Walt Disney World Resort is always a top concern when planning a vacation!  I'm definitely in the "any time is a great time to visit" camp, as it my favorite place in the world and my ultimate Happy Place!

Given your possible dates, I'm partial to October visits, as one of my favorite Special Events is Mickey's Not So-Scary Halloween Party!  It's a wonderful after hours event that brings out the kid in everyone!  Children and parents alike will enjoy trick or treating around the park, and lots of 'not-so-scary" fun!  Another fabulous event that the entire family enjoys is the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.  We always save a dinner for the festival, and sample food from around the world!  We also might have a few extra desserts that night as well!

The weather will definitely still be warm enough to enjoy the pool, and I think you'll find crowds are a little less that around the Memorial Day time frame.

As for which week in October?  I'd tend to choose the first week in October over the second week, just because of where Columbus Day falls in 2017.  Columbus Day is Thanksgiving Day in Canada, and many Canadians head south to celebrate the holiday.  This tends to impact the crowd levels a bit.

Have a magical vacation and thank you again for stopping by!
