will visit wdw in Oct. with dining plan-older couple-no kids-what are best restaurant choices on the plan, especially those only using one night's coupon. Not fond of buffets. staying 5 nights. Also to celebrate a birthday. Thanks for help.

    Herb:

    Where do I begin?

In my opinion, you could throw a dart at Epcot's map and choose whatever restaurant the dart landed on!  Three recommendations if you're using the dining plan:

    1. Les Chefs de France: the quaint bistro atmosphere underscores its charm.  Ask for a window seat so you can "people watch."
    2. Teppan Edo: the chef's entertain with their knife mastery at the hibachi grill.  If you like to meet new people, you'll enjoy talking to the others at your table.
    3. Coral Reef: Step back in time as you enter the main dining room that reminds me of the old nightclubs...but instead of a big band to entertain you, you've got a wall-to-wall aquarium.
The resorts house some of the best Signature Restaurants that cost two-table credits.  By the end of the week, you'll find that you're pretty full on the dining plan and wouldn't miss skipping a meal--especially to celebrate a birthday.  I'd splurge and consider checking out Jiko's filet and macaroni and cheese; Narccossee's seafood AND incredible view, Yachtman's steakhouse, or California Grill, where you can cap off the celebration with fireworks!

I know you didn't ask, but don't count out the buffet restaurants.  One of my favorites is Crystal Palace in of all places, the Magic Kingdom theme park.  If you can find a table for two tucked away from the masses of children, I think you'd be pleasantly surprised at the array of salads and tender meat.  Probably one of the best values on the plan.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
