Hi! We will visit WDW in may 09 with my then 2 year old girl. I've been told she will be Mickey's guest and will not pay for park entrance, but what about food? does she pay at restaurants? what are the rules at sit down restaurants, buffetes, etc? thanks!

Hello Karla! You must be getting very excited for your upcoming vacation. My daughter was 2 1/2 on our last trip, and it was a very magical age to experience Disney!

It is true that children under the age of 3 are admitted to all of the parks free of charge. If you will be eating at buffets or restaurants that offer all you care to eat meals, your daughter will eat for free. She can also share from your plate at any restaurant free of charge. The only time you will have to pay for a meal is if you order something from the children's menu for her. The price range for most kid's meals is between 5 and 8 dollars.

On our last trip, we did lots of character meals so we didn't have to worry about paying extra for my daughter most of the time. Every now and then we did get her a child's meal from a quick service restaurant, which we had to pay for. I think you will find that most portions at both table and counter service locations are quite large, and may be enough for you to share.

    Have a wonderful time!
