1st visit to WDW 4/3-4/11/12. Were excited! I was wondering what are the best dinners to go to character and non? We are getting the regular dinning plan. Already planning on Chef Mickey and Akershus.

    Hi Liz,

You are off to a great start with your dining plans!  Chef Mickey's is great for meeting Mickey and friends, and Akershus is a perfect meal for meeting your favorite princesses.  I do prefer Akershus for breakfast over lunch or dinner.

There are so many fun restaurants to choose from in Walt Disney World.  I'm not sure how old your children are, but Hollywood and Vine has a fun character buffet with Disney Junior characters from shows like Little Einsteins and Jake & the Neverland Pirates.  I also really like Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom. It features Winnie the Pooh and friends.

Now for some fun non-character dining experiences.  There are so many to choose from, but I particulary like 'Ohana, Whispering Canyon Cafe, 50s Prime Time Cafe, Teppan Edo, and Biergarten.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
