Hi there Victoria, and a very warm Canadian welcome to planDisney!
As a Resort-Hopping Regular, I'm so glad that you asked me this question because it's definitely right up my alley! While my husband and I often enjoy staying at a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel with the benefits they offer, we sometimes stay nearby off-property thanks to
special deals available to us as Disney Vacation Club Members.
You'll be delighted to discover that the Walt Disney World Resort currently welcomes all guests visiting the resorts in picturesque locations like
Disney's BoardWalk in order to
enjoy the entertainment,
chow down on some of our favourite food and feel the awesome ambience under the glowing lights in the evening - without requiring a stay at
Disney's BoardWalk Inn, let alone one of the Resort Hotels on property!
One thing you should be aware of is that if you're intending to park at some of these Resorts, you may encounter some with a stricter parking policy in place due to limited space and perhaps to deter folks from using the resorts as a parking lot in order to visit the Parks; a security Cast Member may ask to see identification or a valid dining reservation in order to enter and may decide to restrict entry if you're unable to present one on request.
I'm so happy that this is a thing that folks and families can take advantage of, in order to introduce them to locations that they might be interested in staying at on future vacations. We recently spent a day up in the air on the
Disney Skyliner drifting casually between the resorts and even seeing fireworks from way up high. There's also something magical about paying a visit to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to gaze out at the animals while wolfing down a Zebra Dome (our favourite must-have resort hopping snack) - seriously, if you ever get the chance, pounce on it!
I hope that this was handy and helpful; please don't hesitate to come back and
ask me any more questions, including my Princely picks and sure-fire strategies when visiting other resorts like the BoardWalk.
All the best on your Resort-Hopping Quest!
