Hi there, Joann! Thanks so much for stopping by the
Disney's Beach Resorts corner of planDisney - I'm so glad you found us. I'm happy to help with your question about
Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort - let's get right to it!
The Hilton Head resort is such a lovely spot - it reminds me of something from a classic 1940s movie. It's a great destination for a relaxing beach getaway, with a few touches of Disney magic sprinkled throughout, as you might expect. The resort itself is about a mile from the Atlantic Beach access, which is easily accessible by bike or via the complimentary shuttle that ferries Guests to
Disney's Beach House.
Joann, I'm happy to report that you can visit the resort to get the lay of the land and determine if you would like to book a future stay there. The Cast Member I spoke to at Hilton Head said you should park at Shelter Cove Harbour and take the boardwalk to the resort. You can grab a bite to eat at Signals or Tide Me Over and check out the offerings at Broad Creek Mercantile. They usually have a good selection of Disney merchandise and beach-themed items. It's important to note that the pools and beach access are reserved for Guests staying at the resort, so while you'll be able to check out the Big Dipper and Little Dipper pools, you won't be able to use them as a visitor.
If you're a
Disney Vacation Club Member wishing to stay at Hilton Head using your Vacation Points, you can book a stay here beginning 7 months before your planned check-in date (11 months for Members who have this resort as their Home Resort). Non-DVC Members can book a stay at the resort as well, but availability may be limited during peak times as Members will have access to bookings before they open to the public.
I hope you get to experience some of the seaside magic that is the Hilton Head resort, Joann! Thanks again for visiting planDisney, and please reach out anytime if we can help with additional questions to help plan your next Disney adventure.
SEA Ya Real Soon!
