Hi! I would like to visit Port Orleans - French Quarter, specifically Sassagoula and Scat's Lounge around 5-6 pm. I am not a resort guest. Will I be able to enter resort grounds without a dinner reservation?

Magical greetings, Molly, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for asking your question about visiting Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter without a hotel reservation. I'm happy to help you get to your destination.

Yes, you may visit and enjoy Scat Cat's Club - Lounge and Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory while you're there. To get there, you'll need to either park at or find your way to one of the four Walt Disney World theme parks. You'll then take Walt Disney World Bus Service to Port Orleans French Quarter. Parking at the resort is for Guests with a hotel, dining or experience reservation there, so transportation from a theme park is your best bet.

As you're contemplating your route, please keep a few things in mind. Bus or water transportation from Disney Springs is also only available to Guests with a hotel, dining or experience package. When choosing which theme park to embark on your journey from, double check park hours so you'll be able to make the return trip back.

When you say you aren't a resort Guest, I'm not sure if you mean you aren't staying at a Disney Resort hotel or just not French Quarter. If not at all, I'd like to encourage you to think about it for a future visit. There really is nothing better than staying "inside the bubble," as Disney fans lovingly call it. Aside from the complimentary transportation, there are many benefits to staying at a Disney Resort hotel. Some of my favorites are the ways to get extra time in the parks. All Disney Resort Guests get 30 minutes of early entry at each theme park daily. Deluxe Resort Guests also get Extended Evening Theme Park Hours on select nights. The best part for me, though, is being fully immersed in the magic for my entire trip. It's a feeling that is hard to explain and even harder to place a value on. I totally understand budgets are different, and I always like to check the Special Offers page of the Walt Disney World website before I book my trip. There are often some really attractive offers there.

Molly, I hope you have a great time visiting French Quarter. We'd love to see you real soon if you have any other planning questions we can help with.

    Grab hold of your dreams!
