if we want to visit 4 parks and a water park during our stay ... taking 5 day tickets for the family is the right thing to do ?

Hiya, Carl! Thanks so much for bringing your question to us at planDisney! It sounds like adventure is out there for you as you are planning a most magical vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort! Combining visits to the theme parks and water parks is my favorite - it's a chance to see the magic beyond the theme parks and a way to unwind, relax, and cool off!

When choosing a ticket option to visit the Disney Water Parks, you have a few options! A standard theme park ticket does not include water park admission, but you may purchase a one-day water park ticket separately, or you may upgrade your standard ticket to include the Water Park and Sports option or the Park Hopper Plus option, which will give you a set number of visits to the water parks, mini golf courses, ESPN Wide World of Sports.

With this ticket option, your additional admissions will be based on the number of days you have chosen; for example, with a four-day theme park ticket, by adding either of these options, you will be entitled to four additional visits to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course, Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, FootGolf at Disney's Oak Trail, and Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course. My family finds this to be a great value, as we can visit the theme parks and water parks or other activities on separate days, or combine them if we have the time! With a four-day ticket, you will have up to seven days to use all of your extra admissions!

Carl, at this time, the water parks are operating on a rotating basis. Currently, Blizzard Beach is open to guests, but will be closing on March 17, at which time Typhoon Lagoon will be reopening. Depending on when you arrive, I'd recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for announcements about which water park will be operating during your visit so you can plan accordingly! Whether you are catching waves at Typhoon Lagoon or hitting the slopes at Blizzard Beach, you're sure to have a splashing good time!

I hope this helps you decide which ticket option will work best for your family to maximize the fun beyond the theme parks available to you! Come on back to us if we can help with anything else as you plan for your vacation - we're all ears at planDisney!

    Just keep swimming,
    Alison
