Hi, Traci! Welcome back to planDisney! It's a pleasure to help you plan your magical holiday visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
Getting a taste of Christmas cheer after a full helping of fun at the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival sounds like an amazing way to kick off your family's holiday celebration. Christmas typically arrives early at the Magic Kingdom Park, with
the grinning pumpkins of Halloween transitioning to festive wreaths literally overnight!
This year, the Magic Kingdom Park will play host to
Disney Very Merriest After Hours on select nights from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., starting November 8. Since you plan to visit after the Food & Wine Festival ends on November 20, the holiday events at the Magic Kingdom Park will be well underway. Disney hasn't provided an exact schedule for the After Hours event yet, but we might be able to use
Disney After Hours Boo Bash as a model. The grim grinning ghosts are coming out to socialize most Tuesdays and Fridays between now and Halloween, with an occasional Sunday night added in. The days of the Christmas event may well differ, so keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog and the Disney Very Merriest After Hours page I linked above for updates. Tickets are supposed to go on sale next month, so I'm sure we'll get more details very soon!
Traci, if it turns out that there's an event on the day you were hoping to visit the Magic Kingdom Park, don't worry! Disney Very Merriest After Hours requires a separate ticket, and Guests holding those tickets won't be allowed to use them until later in the evening. You can still spend the whole day taking in the beauty and magic of a Walt Disney World Christmas with your regular park tickets.
I hope this helps you experience a
jolly holiday at the Walt Disney World Resort, Traci. Happiest of holidays to you and your family, and please come see us again if you have any more questions!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
