When we visit next we’ll be on the DDP, aside from my 1 year old. Can we pay cash for his food during meals and use our DDP credits for our meals? I’ve read that under 3s eat off your plate, but what if he doesn’t like what I’m eating or there isn’t enough

Hi, Laura!  Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this great question!

I am so excited to hEAR that you will be visiting Walt Disney World Resort with your little Mouseketeer!  You are going to love watching him take in all of the magical sights and sounds.  Even though he may not remember much of this vacation, you are going to make memories that will last a lifetime.  Be sure to purchase Memory Maker to help you relive all of those magical moments for yEARs to come.

Little ones under 3 years of age are considered "Guests of Mickey."  As such, they do not need a ticket to enter the theme parks, and there is no need to purchase a Disney Dining Plan for them.  Your little one is welcome to eat from your plate, but if you would rather order him something of his own, that is perfectly fine.  You can simply pay out-of-pocket for your little guy's meal while everyone else in your party uses their Disney Dining Plan entitlements.  At a buffet or family-style restaurant, children under the age of 3 may enjoy what they like at no additional charge.

Even though your son is too young for his own Disney Dining Plan, please keep in mind that you will still need to include him in the number of guests when you book your dining reservations.  This will ensure that you have a table big enough to comfortably accommodate your entire group.

Laura, did you know that each of the Walt Disney World theme parks has a Baby Care Center?  The Baby Care Centers can really come in handy for families traveling with little ones.  They are a great place to feed or change your little Mouseketeer, purchase any essential baby care items you may have run out of, or simply take a break during a busy day of theme park fun.  For even more information on traveling with little ones, be sure to check out these tips on making magic with preschoolers, as well as the Panel Extras section of the Disney Parks Moms Panel website.

If you have any additional questions as you plan your vacation, please don't hesitate to ask.  We love to help!  See ya real soon!
