Will visit the Magic Kingdom in March with an 8 month old baby. Can we wait in line for height restricted attractions with the baby and then take turns riding while one adult holds the baby?

    Hi Jacqueline!

I have taken my both boys to visit Mickey when they were just little Mouseketeers and we used the Rider Switch system quite a bit to enjoy the "big kid" rides, even though we had our little ones with us. When using the Rider Switch program, your whole family, including the baby, will go to the attraction queue entrance and explain to the Cast Member that you will be using Rider Switch. The first adult will enter the attraction queue with a Rider Switch lanyard, which will be exchanged for a Rider Switch ticket in the queue.

While the first adult is in the queue and enjoying the attraction, the other adult and your little one are free to explore other areas of the theme park. When my boys were little, I often used this time to visit the Baby Care Center to take care of some of their needs or enjoy an attraction that they could enjoy, such as Prince Charming Regal Carousel. Once the first adult to enjoy the attraction is finished, he or she can meet up with the other adult and your little one in the theme park, give the Rider Switch ticket to the other adult and that adult can then use the ticket to enjoy the attraction using the FastPass+ queue, bypassing the Standby queue, while the first rider and your little one can explore the theme park.

I love this system because your little one doesn't have to wait in attraction queues that they don't need and instead, they are able to enjoy other parts of the theme park. My youngest one is still a bit too short for some attractions and we often enjoy a special treat, like a Dole Whip, while we are waiting for the rest of the family on another attraction!

    T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
