i will visit magic kingdom Aug 4 or 5 w my family. I will purchase tickets online and buy parking at the gate- do I need to do anything else bc of covid? I want to make a reservation for the be our guest restaurant-how do i specify to be in grandballroom?

    Hi Eva!

I'm so happy to hear you're planning a Walt Disney World Resort visit in August, with a day in Magic Kingdom Park. There's nothing like stepping through the gates, walking through Town Square, then rounding the corner to see gorgeous Cinderella Castle at the end of Main Street U.S.A.! As many times as I visit, it still takes my breath away.

It's good to see you're already getting prepared, and making sure you've handled all the details before your visit. At this time, Covid protocols continue to shift and change, so it's important you stay up-to-date on the latest health and safety procedures before your visit. Currently, face coverings are considered optional in any outdoor areas, but must be worn indoors, except when actively eating or drinking while stationary and physically distanced. This policy could likely change before you arrive, so I encourage you to check this page of Incredible Tips for a Magical Visit often before your day in the park.

In addition to purchasing Theme Park Tickets, you'll also need to secure Disney Park Pass reservations for each member of your party. Before purchasing your tickets, I encourage you to check the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar for the date you'll be visiting.

Dining at Be Our Guest Restaurant is an experience like no other at Magic Kingdom Park. You'll feel as though you stepped right into the classic Disney animated film, Beauty and the Beast! Guests are seated in one of three areas: the Grand Ballroom, the Rose Gallery, and the West Wing. If you'd like to request to be seated in the Grand Ballroom, I would suggest arriving early to check in, or even stopping by earlier in the day to have it noted on your reservation. (Guests are not able to make requests at the time of booking.)  Pro tip: Make sure to take a good look at the cherub angels painted on the ceiling in the ballroom. The faces of the angels are either modeled after Disney Imagineers' babies, the Imagineers themselves as babies, and you might just see a few that have adult Imagineer faces on tiny baby bodies. See if you can spot them - it's fun to see!

To secure an Advance Dining Reservation for Be Our Guest Restaurant, log in to your My Disney Experience account or the Walt Disney World Resort dining reservation page 60 days before your arrival. For an August 4 arrival, that would be Saturday, June 5, and for an August 5 arrival, Sunday, June 6. That's right around the corner! The website typically begins accepting reservations for select dining locations between 5:45am and 6:00am Eastern Standard Time. Since Be Our Guest is a very popular dining experience, I recommend setting an alarm or a reminder so you don't miss the chance to grab that coveted reservation! Make sure your My Disney Experience account is set up with your current information and ready to go that morning. You can also try calling to speak with a WDW Dining Cast Member at (407)-939-3463 - phone lines open at 7:00am EST.

I hope this helps with your planning!
