Bright Suns, Donna-marie!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I just returned from a visit to the planet of Batuu and I have to tell you,
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is
incredible! Exploring Black Spire Outpost and seeing the Star Wars stories I have loved for almost my whole life come alive before my very eyes gave me goosebumps and even a few tears.
Probably the most amazing experience in the whole land for me was
Savi’s Workshop. I won’t spoil the experience, but from the moment you check in and meet the Gatherers to begin your lightsaber experience, you will feel the Force flowing. It was unforgettable, and I will absolutely be back with my son so he can experience customizing his very own lightsaber with Savi’s Gatherers.
Donna-marie, Disney Gift Cards are indeed an acceptable form of payment at Savi’s Workshop. I think it’s a really smart idea to save money using a Disney Gift Card so you can experience this very special process and walk away with your very own customized lightsaber.
On Black Spire Outpost, you’ll hear the locals talking about “credits,” which are a form of galactic currency. When you ride
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, your mission will be to procure some items for Hondo Ohnaka. At the end of your flight, Hondo will tell you how many credits you’ve earned…or how many you owe him. As you walk around the land, locals might even stop and ask if you’ve seen Hondo, because it seems many are avoiding him due to credit disputes (I definitely owe Hondo a few credits). There’s even a Disney Gift Card you can purchase in the land that is designed to look like Batuuan Spira, which is the currency used on Batuu in addition to the Earth currency Guests will have. Don't worry - your Earth currency will work in all locations. This is just one of many ways
you will feel totally immersed in the world of Black Spire Outpost during your visit.
Donna-marie, I hope you love every moment of your visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! Please come back and see us if we can help as you do your planning and Disney dreaming.
‘Til the Spire,
Robyn
