I want to visit Disneyland in the spring of 2026. Is there a better time than another to do so? We are thinking about May.

Rosie! Welcome back to planDisney! We love when you stop by with your great questions.

I'm so excited to hear that you're thinking about a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! Oh boy! You're in for such a magical time, Rosie.

Honestly, anytime is the perfect time to go to Disneyland, especially during its 70th Celebration, but I understand your desire to want to maximize the magic and choose dates that are a good fit for you. While every Guest has their own particular preferences and priorities, I, personally, love visiting the parks in May. The weather tends to be very pleasant, and, in the past, we've been able to enjoy Season of the Force which is a Star Wars-themed special event that has included racing through the galaxy, dodging TIE fighters on Hyperspace Mountain - our very favorite attraction! No event dates have been announced for 2026 yet but keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the fun. The Disney Parks Blog is also a great place to check out past springtime happenings. It may spark an idea of what you might want to experience this coming year!

Something else to be aware of when it comes to a Disneyland visit in May, Rosie, is that Grad Nites are returning in 2026! These special young grads are invited in the parks for their own private, after-hours event from 9pm to 2am in California Adventure on select nights in May and June. For you, that just means California Adventure will close one hour earlier for Guests without a Grad Nite ticket. Typically, all non-Grad Nite Guests will be ushered out of California Adventure after the conclusion of the 9pm World of Color showing, so the grads can get going on their big party!

Speaking of maximizing the magic, in the past there have been promotions that typically run through May, so you'll definitely want to keep your eye on the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page on the Disneyland website for current special ticket offers, as well as hotel deals.

You'll also want to know about the Hours & Events Schedule on the Disneyland website, Rosie, as it will be your best planning pal (besides your panelists here at planDisney, of course!). The Hours & Events Schedule is an incredibly helpful resource, providing you with entertainment schedules, attraction closure information, park hours, as well as the events occurring during your visit. Make sure you've selected your specific dates and park at the top.

I hope I was able to provide some helpful information for you, Rosie! As you continue to dream a fantastic dream, I'd love to share more of my tips and recommendations for a truly magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth - like my favorite ways to "Celebrate Happy" at Disneyland's 70th Celebration! (Brand new entertainment! Must-have merchandise! Unique attraction overlays! Delicious treats!) Don't hesitate to reach out again with any questions you may have. I could talk about Disneyland all day.

    See you real soon!

    Warmest wishes,
    McCayla

Meet the Panelist: McCayla, Washington

Hello from the Pacific Northwest! I'm McCayla, a wife and mom dreaming of adventure in the great wide somewhere, yet also completely content watching Toy Story from the couch. My love of Disneyland began as a little girl on Peter Pan's Flight and only grows with each visit. But even when I'm not physically at the Happiest Place on Earth, I truly feel that same joy when I can help others (YOU!) experience the magic of Disneyland Resort too.
