Hello, We would like to visit Disneyland during a busy time. Is it best to book my hotel reservations and buy tickets? Or should I wait until I can book those specific dates in the park? Thank you!

Hiya, Brandon! Welcome to planDisney. The holidays are definitely the merriest time of the year to be at the Happiest Place on Earth! From the holly jolly decor to the seasonal sweets and treats, it's hard not to be filled with the holiday spirit strolling down Main Street, U.S.A.!

You are right to start ringing the jingle bells on booking this trip as it is a very popular time to be at the Disneyland Resort! My recommendation would be to book the vacation package now and then mark your calendar for when you will be able to make those theme park reservations. This way, you will likely have more options when it comes to room availability at the Disneyland Resort Hotels and can find something that fits within your plans and budget. You also will have the flexibility to cancel for a full refund as long as you cancel 30 days or more prior to your arrival.

I would also go ahead and set an alert in your calendar 120 days out from your arrival date to start making those theme park reservations. These will open up one day at a time, so you will likely need to make them one day at a time as well. Since it looks like you will be spending New Year's Eve at the parks, I would make it a priority to grab them at the 120-day mark. You can always cancel and reschedule them if needed down the line!

Now, let the merry-making commence! We've just crossed the "Halfway to the Holidays" mark, which in our world is an actual holiday itself! The Disney Parks Blog has just announced some very fun news on what we can expect at the Disneyland Resort this holiday season. From the big, dazzling display of "Believe ... In The Holiday Magic" fireworks at Disneyland Park to "World of Color - Season of Light" at Disney California Adventure Park to the return of the famous 7-foot gingerbread house in the lobby of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa! No matter the time of year, I always love taking a break in the lobby of this hotel. With its sweeping ceilings and architecture, it makes for a great place to escape the park hustle and bustle. Grab a hot chocolate and sit by the fire and enjoy!

Brandon, I hope this was helpful in your planning! Come back to see us if you have any more questions! We are always here for you at planDisney
