Hi Selena!
I am so appreciative that you brought your question to
planDisney!
I was thrilled when I saw your question because I have taken my kids to
Walt Disney World for their
birthdays every year since they were two years old! I have plenty of tips and tricks to share to make a birthday magical.
First, when you arrive, make sure to ask for a complimentary "Happy Birthday" button. You can get the button customized with the birthday guest's name and enjoy "happy birthday" greetings all day long! Make sure you are wearing your birthday button when you meet the characters, as they will make sure you feel special! Character meet-n-greets are also a great way to get amazing birthday photos. Meet Mickey at Town Square for a great birthday shot!
Secondly, make sure to note the birthday celebration on your
advanced dining reservations. In the past, when I have noted a birthday celebration at a Wat Disney World restaurant, I have received a little birthday surprise, such as a cupcake. While this isn't guaranteed, many restaurants do this, which makes the birthday guest feel extra special.
Lastly, consider small inexpensive moments. For example, purchase an inexpensive birthday card and ask all of the characters to sign it when you meet them. Or tell the Disney PhotoPass photographer that you are celebrating a birthday and see if they have any happy birthday props to include in your photos.
If you are open to spending money, you can have a customized birthday cake sent to your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel or select restaurants. You can also add some special pixie dust by ordering balloons, a gift basket, snacks, or flowers through
Disney Floral & Gifts. You can also get birthday Mickey Mouse ears and have them customized at Disney's Magic Kingdom! The birthday ears are so cute in pictures!
Happy birthday from planDisney!
Magically,
Stacy
