Hi there! This will be our 4th visit to Disney and the first time in December. We are scheduled to arrive December 14th for 5 nights. Can you tell me what to expect with the crowds for this time of year?

    Hello, Jennifer!

The crowd level during the time you are at Walt Disney World should be great! You're arriving at a time when all of the holiday decor and activities are in full swing, but you're also there when it's NOT a holiday. Well planned!

According to my favorite unofficial crowd-predicting website, touringplans.com, the overall crowd level in the parks on the day of your arrival will be at 4 out of 10. On Saturday, 12/15, though, the level increases to 7 out of 10 (Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom are the less-crowded parks on that day.) The 16th sees crowd averages at 3 out of 10, but the 17th averages at 8 out of 10. Epcot and HS are the lighter parks that day.  On December 18th, the crowd level is predicted to be back down to 5 out of 10.

Aside from this, the crowd level will be nothing like during really peak seasons. Summers and holidays are often so crowded, so even though some of these parks rate a 7 out of 10, that may still feel lighter than if you're used to a higher crowd level.
