Hey Kari-
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I absolutely agree that visiting Magic Kingdom Park by Walt Disney World Monorail System is a real treat. I remember passing through Disney’s Contemporary Resort and thinking, “Woah, we zoomed through a building!” The “highway in the sky” makes a magical impression on everyone.
There are three
monorail lines: Express Monorail, Resort Monorail and Epcot Monorail. All three Monorail Systems usually operate from 30 minutes prior to earliest park opening until one hour after latest park closing. With a 7:00 a.m. reservation at Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort you would be unable to have your magical approach because the only complimentary transportation at that time will be a bus to take you directly to your destination.
You may still have your Mickey waffles and Magical Moment. When you get to Disney’s Contemporary Resort ask the concierge for the Monorail schedule. It will likely start between 8:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Finish breakfast around 8:00 a.m. and catch the Resort Monorail. It will take you AWAY from Magic Kingdom Park to the Transportation and Ticket Center. From here you have three options: 1. stay on this monorail as it stops at all the other Monorail line resorts around the Seven Seas Lagoon, 2. transfer to the Express Monorail which will take you back through Disney’s Contemporary Resort or 3. get off the Walt Disney World Monorail System and take a Ferryboat across the Seven Seas Lagoon.
Disney Dad Tip: Any route to Magic Kingdom Park is memorable. A fourth option is by foot. We love walking from Disney’s Contemporary Resort directly to Magic Kingdom Park. Along the way you pass Space Mountain as you work off some of those waffles.
Kari, enjoy making many Magical Memories!
