Hi, We will visit Animal Kingdom in November this year and will have a 4 yr old girl and 8 month old boy with us. What is a must do there? Thanks!

    Hi Elaine,

Animal Kingdom is a great place for little ones. I have some great suggestions for must-dos at this park and I hope they can help you plan your magical day there.

With two small children, you HAVE to visit Rafiki's Planet Watch. This area of the park is only accessible by train. I'm not sure about your kids, but mine have always like a train ride, no matter how long or short. Once there, you can explore the Conservation Station and learn about all kinds of animals. They'll be able to see scientists and vets helping animals and there is lots of animal fun facts to learn here. Even as an adult, I always walk away from there with a new piece of interesting knowledge. Also there is the Affection Section where the kids can pet goats and pigs and other animals. Don't worry, there is a washing/sanitizing station before you leave.

There are also two amazing shows at Animal Kingdom, Finding Nemo - the Musical and Festival of the Lion King. You will think you are watching a Broadway show right in the middle of a theme park! They are that good. Plus, this is a great opportunity to rest those tired feet in the middle/end of a busy day walking around this massive park.

Kilimanjaro Safaris is a wonderful ride where you can see the animals LIVE and among their natural habitats. My kids love this ride, but I will tell you that it can be a bit jarring. You are able to take your 8 month old on it, but the bumpy, but not scary, ride could startle him. So, keep this in mind.

My last suggestion would be to visit Dinoland, USA. This "land" in Animal Kingdom has the Boneyard (a huge play area and "dig" site), Triceratop Spin, and character meet and greets.

Have a roaring good time in Animal Kingdom.
